Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps
Ground turkey, red onion & peas are sautéed with an Asian-inspired sauce before being served in butter lettuce wraps for a delicious, healthy meal.

- 1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
- 1 lb ground turkey can sub ground chicken or pork
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 head butter or romaine lettuce
For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos, tamari or soy sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp arrowroot or cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional- omit for no heat
Wash & dry all lettuce leaves to remove any dirt.
Heat a medium skillet over medium heat, add oil.
Brown the ground turkey in the pan, adding the red onion & frozen peas at the end of cooking time.
Whisk together all ingredients for the sauce, add to the skillet and let thicken for a few minutes over medium-low heat.
Serve filling in lettuce wraps.
Optional: add white or brown rice to the wraps. Top with cilantro and lime juice.
