Blackened Salmon with Dad's Special Sauce

Delicious blackened salmon with a spicy-sweet seasoning rub is baked to perfection before being paired with a creamy, zesty sauce made with Greek yogurt, horseradish, lemon and herbs

Ingredients
  

For the Blackened Salmon:

  • 4 filets salmon
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For Dad's Special Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp mayo
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • pinch of salt & pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit. Prep the salmon by blotting it dry with a paper towel or rag.
  • Mix the seasoning blend of 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and spread the spice mix on the filets of fish.
  • Bake the salmon at 425 for 25 minutes (or 10 minutes per inch of thickness).
  • Make the Dad's Special Sauce by mixing together the Greek yogurt, mayo, horseradish, dill, lemon, salt and pepper.
